Design Studio VI is the first design studio of senior year, and by this point, everything is about sustainability, accuracy, and completion.

Our first project was a group project for a sail-covered seating area on campus. Our school's building & grounds department came to us and asked if we could design a seating area for the central mall of campus, so we split up into groups, and spent a week creating our seating area. My group included a central pathway underneath our multi-colored sails, and kept flexibility and maneuverability in mind.

The second project, also a group project, was for a high-rise bohemian hostel in Barcelona, Spain. On a very thin site, this 26-story hostel is home to 50 guest rooms, public activity and lounging spaces, multiple dining areas, and a Spanish-inspired garden with a fountain. This seven-week project included a full detailed booklet of all drawings, a large poster, and a detailed physical model.

The third and final project was an individual assignment to design a Guggenheim Museum in Helsinki, Finland. Students were given six weeks to design the museum from start to finish, and were forced to tackle the work of a partner project by themselves.

Shown above are the posters for all three of these projects.
