One of the classes in the fifth semester focused on sustainable sites and communities. Throughout this class, students conducted multiple case studies on examples of sustainable and unsustainable communities across the world, and created design solutions for certain sites.

The first redevelopment took place on Little League Blvd. in Williamsport PA. My partner and I redeveloped 4 blocks of this area, and reused many of the existing buildings. We also created a pedestrian-only area, multiple plazas, and green spaces to promote walkability. Little League Blvd. gained an extra lane for buses and another lane for bikers as well as a center median acting as a bioswale.

The next redevelopment was at a much larger scale taking place in Beirut, Lebanon, less than a mile away from the 2020 explosions. This area was recently built up with a sea wall and only had streets, sidewalks, and minimal buildings. My partner and I redeveloped this area with many different housing opportunities, pedestrian-only areas, community infrastructure, and tourist attractions.
