MUSIC

Music has been a huge part of my life as far back as I can remember. I listen to all types of music and have participated in music performance ever since the age of 10. In fourth grade, I started playing percussion and before I knew it, I was the drum captain of a 200-person band in high school. Throughout high school, I participated in percussion roles in marching band, concert band, jazz band, orchestra, chorus, and musicals. These are some of my favorite memories of high school, and in college, I became an officer and drum captain of the Penn College Pep Band.

I never thought that I would have the opportunity to join Penn State's Blue Band, but it has by far been one of the coolest things I've ever done. Not only did it provide me with countless opportunities to travel the country to support teams I love, but it introduced me to so many great people that have become some of my closest friends.

Although playing music is one of my favorite past times, listening to music is what gets me through every day. Dave Matthews, John Mayer, Rush, and Kenney Chesney are just a few of my favorite artists, and I think I love music so much because it is the universal language of the world.  Above are a few images from my time as drum captain in high school, my time in blue band, the people that have performed with me, and some of my favorite concerts.
