INTERNSHIP: 2021-2023

RLPS Architects in Lancaster, PA served as the basis of my professional experience during my time as a student. I was fortunate to intern at the firm for two full years - two summer and two winter sessions - and in that time was exposed to various practice areas of the firm. Interning for multiple consecutive internship periods allowed me to gain experience in all of three of the office's primary practice areas including senior living, K-12, and higher education, as well as some select work.

In addition to experiencing various areas of practice, I was also exposed to a multitude of tasks including many of the introductory tasks like modeling existing conditions, picking up red marks, assisting project team members with modeling tasks and the production of documents, as well as other tasks that most interns don't always get to experience. Some of these tasks included conducting campus-wide feasibility studies for school districts, working closely with partners to develop design schemes, and participating in OAC meetings and completing construction observation reports afterwards.

As a returning intern my second summer, I informally adopted a leadership position within the intern group as someone who had become accustomed to the office's standards, and was able to assist incoming interns with office standards, BIM standards, and the annual intern project. Above are a few images of some of the first projects I worked on. Although I did not create the images above, they are renderings/construction photos of some of the first projects in my professional experience.
