WATERBURY, CT

THE CITY NATIONAL BANK

FALL 2020

For our final project for Design Studio IV, students were given eight weeks to design a mid-rise building in Waterbury, CT. This building was to be designed with multiple stories housing a bank, bank offices, and other office spaces for lease.

The bank was placed on the first floor, with the bank office spaces on the floor above. On floors 3-6, different leasable office spaces were arranged, and the roof was equipped with an accessible extensive green roof.

With this project, I wanted to celebrate my structure, my entrance/lobby, and the façade of my building. To do this, I created multiple areas where the buildings skeleton is exposed to emphasize the structure of the building. To celebrate the façade, I created different layers of wall planes by pushing and pulling different elements of the exterior.

Above are a few images of my design solution and how I incorporated these elements.
